I have explored ways in music and recorded them with happiness. ‘Black Light’ has opened a portal that is neither Jazz nor Rock, nor Indian nor Blues, and yet all of these: it’s an open door.

I’II like to have the chart of El Hombre que Sabia
please let me know if this possible
Thanks
I always hoped to return with his magical classical guitar in all its elegance … and above all that it is dedicating to Paco.
Thanks to all my inspiration
Great that Paco has inspired you to pick up the acoustic guitar again. I hope you’re playing it on the whole CD. I remember hearing your duet with him on Belo Horizonte years ago that I thought wasn’t all that great but now it’s a masterpiece. It is time for you to get back to the acoustic. You sound like you’re just doing the same stuff over and over on the electric over the past five years or more. You needed him to point you in this new direction on the acoustic into music you were able to create through pure inspiration. Which is hopefully on the acoustic. I hope it’s not just one song and then you do Raju again. You are my greatest hero of all time and not just on the guitar. I can’t wait for the new CD Black Light to be released. I know it’s going to be the best music you ever made.
I am thrilled about the return to the acoustic guitar (did you ever really leave…), it’s the perfect marriage between the technology of the 4th dimension band and the timelessness of the wechter.
Bravo!
Next on the wish list is a tour to the US with a pitstop in Austin!
I do hope a vinyl version will be released!
I bought most of the Mclaughlin cds the last 2 decades but a vinyl is a far more intimate experience.
I just bought Dawn on 2LP, it’s not a Mclaughlin release but for a Mahavishnu lover it’s a very welcome release! As many concerts from the 70s come out these days on vinyl (from Fleetwood Mac to Frank Zappa), I do not doubt MO will be very welcome for many fans.
I’ve listened to Black Light 5 or 6 times now and at low volumes it keeps getting better and better on each listen it’s amazing. I think it’s up there with all your best. Free wheeling on the electric with a composition that sounded like the Shakti influenced only electric guitar tune off of Music Spoken Hear and the Paco tribute tune sounds like something off of Belo Horizonte. Your acoustic nylon lead on the tribute should of been louder. But it’s awesome. I’m so happy to enjoy the fall season of 2015 listening to my favorite guitar player of all time. Thanks very much. Oh and Gaza City is the best tune you ever composed you should make a whole CD with music just like that.
Sincerely,
Michael Weir

I have been listening to Black Light on a regular basis. It is one of my favorites, possibly my favorite record of yours. I love the combination of musical depth, intensity, and hauntingly beautiful compositions. I am so impressed that you and your music just keep getting better and better. You are truly an inspiration.
Hello great master, We are very happy to meet you in our country-Chile_next April 07. It will be a very fantastic concert-yes or yes at the « Caupolican » hall.
Black Light is one Absolutely brilliant album! John and his 4th Dimension bandmates have never sounded better. Every track is a Gem! Kudos to you all! John, your writing and playing have reached new heights! It’s great to experience the best band in the world only getting better, like fine wine. I’m wondering if there are plans to make charts of these tunes? If this is something you would like but don’t have anyone in mind, I’m up for the task! And if you are thinking of adding electric or acoustic violon to any project, I’m available for auditioning and would be deeply honored for such a wonderful opportunity. I have learned most of the tunes of this album inside and out. Thank you for your heartfelt efforts In creating this fine masterpiece! Everyone I have recommended the album to is floored at the balance, passion and grace that takes the listener to new places with each listen. Bravo!
