I bought Is That So a week or so ago – stunningly beautiful. Thank you so much for your music and inspiration over all these years from Before In A Silent Way (Extrapolation), through the Mahavishnu years, the wonder that was/is Shakti, the guitar trio and all the more recent albums (don’t think there is any absent from my collection). And this generous download gesture is just another lovely McLaughlin gift. I will tell friends about it. With thanks and bucketfuls of metta, Graham

A huge thank you for this Free Download of the new album. I haven’t heard it yet, but I remember having my mind blown many years ago when I purchased (on vinyl) The Inner Mounting Flame by The Mahavishnu Orchestra and then when on to buy many more releases by this talented musician including his collaboration with Carlos Santana
Thankyou John
Peace and Love be with us all.
John, I admired your talent and your dedication to music throughout all these years. I have heard of many beautiful gestures you have made from a common friend (a lawyer in Switzerland…). Now you are giving me one more reason to believe you are a truly generous person… You are giving out your hard work to help relieve people in the difficult times we are experiencing.
Thank you, may you be blessed by the Universe
Thank you so much for this extraordinary peace of music! This and similar new acting is the return of solidarity for the whole mankind. We have to leave old paths and go new paths. The WE replace the I.
I appreciate your music since 5 decades.
Hi John, this is Patrick Buchmann. Thanks for the great gift with the Solidarity upload. I will listen to the music careflly. I have a current project with my friend Patrice Meyer (fully improvised drums/guitar duet) in the mixing process. I’ll make sure to send you a copy asap. Thanks again and stay away from the virus.

Dear John
Thank you for your generosity and kindness. I have been a devoted fan of you and your heavenly music since a long long time. Thank you again for this offer. I wish you always the best, stay happy and healthy too and may the light of God always be with you. All our love from the Mediterranean Athens.
Thank you
thank you for caring… thank you for sharing….. thank you for your music…
Sylvain

Dear John,
Greetings from Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire! Thank you so much for this beautiful, generous gift.
I’ve been a fan for 45 years: you have been an inspiration to me throughout my life, leading me to discover meditation, Eastern religion, Indian music, jazz – and not least motivating me to keep practising on my guitar!
Throughout my career as a doctor / psychiatrist the compassion and joy embodied in your music have been a continual source of positivity which has benefited both me and my patients.
Please take very good care of yourself.

Grazie! Fantastica musica, armonie e melodie mirabili. Voce di Shankar sorprendente e assolutamente unica e preziosa. Musicisti sublimi.
Thanks a lot for the free download.
I have just listened to « the way of the pilgrim » from the « Inner World » record. I cannot stop listening to that track again and again.
Thanks also from the great music from your career, and your appearances in the public of the CEDAC in Cimiez for some jazz events !

Thank you John. A true
Blessing of a Gift from you in these troubled times.
Thank you so much for your CD « Is that so? »
I am a singer married to are guitar player so I came to your music. Some of your music talkes directly to my heart, some I don´t understand but this one moves me from the very first note. I adore the art of Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain and you created a real masterpiece of meeting in the heart of music where nothing else matters.
Thank you and stay healthy and happy too.
Beate
Thank you for the download which I am looking forward to hearing shortly.
I first saw John, at Hull University, playing with Tony Williams Lifetime (with with Jack and Larry) – and have been mightily impressed ever since.
Keep safe – as they say, and thanks for your great contributions to the world of music (and a great interview in Guitar magazine last year!).
All the very best, fellow plucker – Neil Nile.
Thank you for sharing IS THAT SO. The opening track « Kabir » with it’s warmth and deceptive simplicity is exactly what is needed right now.
I saw you in Wellington, New Zealand with the ONE TRUTH BAND in 1978, in Auckland,NZ in 2009 (THE FIVE PEACE BAND) and most recently the US Tour Finale at the Royce Hall in LA. Magnificent. Always.
Thank you Very much!!!!
You are absolutely great;
Saluti da Milano, Italy
Thanks very much John,
The latest album is wonderful!
We’re hoping to see you and company in concert this summer…if we can leave Spain. Or perhaps you could come to Spain? I first saw you with Mahavishnu Orchestra at Winterland, in San Francisco, back in…say 1974?
Thanks for all the years of incredible music.
Sincerely yours,
Denis Blaise
Thank you so much, John.
merci John
thanks John for the gift, beautiful sounds as ever, thanks for layng a bridge to the stars.
Merci du fond du coeur.
Thank You John, and Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain . You Are So Beautiful, to Gift US with So Much of Your Work and Time . I Am Sending All My Love Back to Your Hearts, I Listen to Your Music since the Age of 14 Years old, My Favorite Shakti Album is Natural Elements . . .
THank you John. I have followed your career since I heard you play on Miles’ Jack Johnson record.
I loved your collaborations with Carlos Santana. You are one of the reasons I still play guitar. You have been my teacher all along.
Thank you!
Looking forward to see you playing here in Tokyo, hopefully soon~!
In reply, I can only say, I love you too, brother.
Thank you for the gift. I’m now 44 and listen to your music since the mid 90’s. I have seen you a few times in Hamburg. One time with Remember Shakti with Zakir Hussain and Mandolin Srinivas amongst. Some time ago.. I was soo deeply overwhelmed. It was pure spirituality. And at least one time with Gary Husband on the stage as one of you great spirits. Would love to see your concert someday in Poland. I wish you all the best. Love and Light from Poland
I am just listening to Love Devotion Surrender. Such a seminal album from my youth in the 70’s. Had the pleasure of living in California for a few years and the connections with Carlos Santana living there and you at Berkeley make me nostalgic for those years and the 70’s. Stay safe.
Hello John, thanks for give us this album free. I have been listening your music for many years, It´s a pain that I have not been able to go to a concert of yours in my country. It would be great if you and your friend Carlos Santana gave a concert in Mexico City. Thaks again.
Gracias maestro Mahavishnu Jhon McLaughlin
Thanks to all of you dearly for this great album and work of art, this is beyond generous!
John, Thank you very much for this gift. I have been your fan since I was a kid, I am in my mid 50s now, and it has been such a pleasure to follow your career and enjoy your music at all its different stages. Unfortunately, I have not been able to attend any live performance where you play electric music but I had the chance to see you on stage in Mexico City long long time ago when you, Al DI Meola and Paco de Lucia offered your fantastic acoustic concert. I only hope this pandemic ends and hopefully, I have the opportunity to see you on stage in the UK only, I believe. God bless you…”Where words fail, music speaks”
Thanks John for this amazing gift!!
Your music has always been in my life and always will be!!
Thanks John, we loves you
Hello!
I am truly grateful for this gift and I will pass it on to somebody in need: I will donate the price of the CD (15€) to a charity.
World music is the best way to loose prejudices towards folks from other parts of the world!
Hans Gruber (really)
Sir John, great thanks for this lovely sharing. Greatly appreciate when received on an island, in the middle of the Philippines where music is rare and arts are almost non-existent. As we say here : Daghang Salamat !
Great remembrance from the Stars ‘N’Bars where we met and all past concerts I saw either in Nice or in Juan les Pins (Mahavishnu Orchestra) Best to you and your relatives, keep safe all of you !
Fabolous, John. You are one of the greatests!! I’ll enjoy the music of this new album. I hope i’ll be so good than the others 😉
I own a jazz and classical…and others musics in a litle local radio broadcast a València (Spain). I’ll do a program with the music of this disc for the people to enjoy.
Thank you very much
Dear John,
A big thank you for this album, it’s a nice gift in these difficult times and it’s good for the soul … you’ve been part of my musical universe for almost 40 years … dawn of my 60s spring … and at the moment I plunged back into this era of the « Mahavisnu orchestra » that good memories for me … the very first album which made me discover you was « APOCALYPSE ».
Thank you again and take good care of yourself.
Jerome
Thank You for providing more than 50 years of Joy.
Metta, JP
Many thanks, I needed a lift today and this was it. Beautiful work, no surprise there. Keep doing what you do.
– your fan for 50 years
Mr. M -thank you so much for this music – and for being a profound inspiration to me for over 50 years now. Not just through your powerful music, but in your wonderful attitude towards life. Stay safe and all the best to you and yours.
You have been an inspiration to me throughout my life. No I have all of your records. Live a long and joyful life.
