In a career that spans over five decades, John McLaughlin, one of music’s most influential and prolific guitarists, composers, and bandleaders will be returning to Brazil to perform at Mimo Festival in Rio de Janeiro , São Paulo and Olinda in November 2018 with his 4th Dimension band. Fresh off his Grammy award in 2018 for his live album , "Live at Ronnie Scotts" , John will be accompanied by long time co-horts, Gary Husband on keyboards and percussion, French-Cameroonian bassist Etienne Mbappe and Mumbai, India based drum powerhouse Ranjit Barot – each an established composer and recording artist in his own right.
Also highlighting this musical adventure will be John McLaughlin revisiting the pioneering music he introduced with his genre-defying Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Brazilian music and people have always been special to John who has been a long time fan of their culture and also performed with their own Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti. John is excited about visiting again the beautiful country of Brazil
