I am listening to this recording for the 1st time and I love it. Thank you for your wonderful music.
Hello John, I remember meeting you way back in the 1960’s when I shared a house with singer, Dickie Pride. I worked with Duffy Power as a duo back then and you had just spent some time playing with Jack Ginger and Graham Bond…crazy peeps eh? I still listen to those early Duffy recordings especially the beautiful version of God Bless The Child. I have been trying to track Duffy down and finally had some success this year. He is living ion North London in assisted housing after yet another mental breakdown…so sad. He did send me a lovely CD, « Tigers » which features his signature plaintive voice and some interesting tunings on an acousticc, nylon strung guitar …Bentonia style I believe. Anyway I thought you might like hear news of Duffy. I will be in the UK some time this summer and will go visit Duffy…still one of my Heroes! Peace, Tim Hinkley
Cela fait plus que 40 ans, que je possède ce disque et il y a au moins une fois par année que je le mets pour me rappeler les temps en provence, ou je l´avais acheté. Un disque impeccable!
This is my favorite album of all time. Second to none. It changed my life when I first heard it in 1982 and I’m a musician today because of it. Tony Oxley should be regarded as one of the greatest jazz drummers of all time, even if judged on this one performance. Sad that he never truly received due recognition in the States.
When we were in college a friend of mine who was familiar with guitar taught me the intro to Arten’s Bag. I even made up a slight variation. He should work that up with the 4th Dimension. John uses the theme again on Follow Your Heart with Joe Farrell. Now I only practice classical very strictly on the side but I will always be monitoring john’s recordings. Time Remembered is genuinely successful technically with respect to the fusion of jazz with classical music; jolly beautiful
I would like to know what guitars and amps were used on this record, and « Devotion » and « Where Fortune Smiles ». Please.
