What a year for U.S. Mclaughlin fans! The "official bootleg" was great (esp. on long drive back to Indy after Chicago show) The "official pirate" is an upgrade on every level: sound & performance. John with Abstract Logix as been amazing, more music and a concert t-shirt to boot!!…life is good.

John McLaughlin always amazes me ! He being my favorite composer and musician since I discovered him in 1972 ( via Marbles on the Santana/Buddy Miles live album )..through Mahavishnu… Shakti… Electric Guitarist album.. on & on & on ! As we age he seems to play FASTER ! I like to call him… “Timing Master” and “Fred Astaire Fingers x 10″ ! People thought I went to the Eastman School of Music for my composing But I’d tell them …” No.. I listen to John McLaughlin in slow motion.”… Back in the LP days when you can put your 33rpm records on 16 rpm… That’s how I learned playing by ear studying John’s super skill. I can say … I don’t know any other human being GOD has blessed to play this great ! I’ve been listening with an open mind ( & ears ) but I don’t know of any guitarist as excellent as John Mclaughlin in the past century ! Go Ahead John and keep up the good work ! Hi folks,
what a superb piece of music. I love John’s guitar style since my discovery of him on Love, Devotion, Surrender in 1978 (I guess). And one of my famous concerts was John playing Cologne in 1984 ….
I attended 11 concerts with him and various musicians from Jonas Hellborg to Shakti.
High inspiration!
